West Flowers, owned by Ellen Lewinberg and John Torry,
launched their online
store last month. Ellen and John are aware of the
potential of the Internet to increase their sales and profits

Street West area not far from the theatre district. Their

You, Ellen and John chose osCommerce,
an open
source software package. osCommerce is an online shop e-commerce
solution that is available for free under the GNU
General Public License. It features a rich 'out-of-the-box'
online shopping cart functionality that allows store owners to
setup, run, and maintain their online stores with minimum effort and
with no costs, fees, or limitations involved.
osCommerce has
attracted the largest community for an e-commerce solution. It
consists of over 129,400 store owners and developers worldwide with
contributions
(add-ons) being contributed almost daily. To date there are over
3,800 contributions, created by the community to extend the features
of an osCommerce online store.

Purchasing floral
gifts or gift
baskets for family and friends online is very convenient for
both the purchaser and the vendor because it can be done anytime and
anyplace. However planning a wedding or special event that requires
different floral
arrangements, bouquets,
and flowers-to-wear
is better done in person with a specialist.
For this reason
King West Flowers did not include wedding and special event items in
their online store catalogue. Photos
and descriptions of these items were posted to the website and
clients are encouraged to call in-store specialists to help them
plan their wedding or event.
