Dear Ron,
Ron Foreman

Here are some great business technology tools to help you better serve your clients and stay ahead of your competition.

  • Survey Monkey simplifies conducting surveys.
  • Form Assembly makes creating web forms easy.
  • Google Analytics measures your web site performance.
  • Google Local puts your business on the local map.
  • Avoid losing important emails in your spam filters.

Survey Monkey Logo
Use your web browser to design and create your survey. Select from multiple choice, rating scales, drop-down menus, etc. You can require answers to any question, control the flow with custom skip logic, and even randomize answer choices to eliminate bias. Change the color, size, and style of any element in your survey and upload your own logo.

Collect responses by pasting a link to your survey in an email or on your web page. Track who responds, and send follow-up reminders. View your results in real-time with live graphs and charts and dig down to get individual responses. Securely share your survey results with others and download your results.

Form Assembly Logo
Create Contact Forms, Marketing Surveys, Feedback Forms, Event Registration Forms, Order Forms, Party RSVPs, Application Forms, etc. Make your website work for you.

Form Assembly generates forms that are web standard compliant and offers dozens of form templates. Forms can be broken down in several pages and simplified with conditional sections. They store the responses to your forms so you don't have to set up a database or do any programming. They offer an online interface to browse the responses.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics is designed to help you learn where your web site visitors come from and how they interact with your site helping you to improve your online results, strengthen your marketing initiatives, and create higher-converting websites.

Google Analytics can be implemented quickly. Track and compare all your ads, email newsletters, affiliate campaigns, referrals, paid links, and keywords. Put all the information you need on a custom Dashboard that you can email to others.
It also includes:
Ecommerce Tracking
Trace transactions to campaigns and keywords, get loyalty and latency metrics, and identify your revenue sources.
Funnel Visualization
Find out which pages result in lost conversions and where your would-be customers go.
Site Overlay
See traffic and conversion information for every link as you browse your site.
Email reports
Schedule or send ad-hoc personalized report emails that contain exactly the information you want to share.
GeoTargeting
Find out where your visitors come from and identify your most lucrative geographic markets.

Google Maps Local Business Center
Millions of people search Google Maps every day. A free listing on Google Maps makes it easy for them to find your business. Use the Local Business Center to create your free listing.

When potential customers search Maps for local information, they'll find your business: your address, hours of operation, even coupons to print out and bring to your shop. It's easy, free, and you don't need a website of your own.
Protect your email address
To reduce spam I recommend to my clients that they camouflage their email addresses when posting them on their website: firstname dot lastname at mydomain dot com. Most spam comes from having your email address harvested from your website. They search for @ and take the data to the left and right of it. Once it's harvested you're on the list and you'll never get off.

Avoid lost emails
I have experimented with several spam filters recently and found that some of them blocked important mail from clients or prospects, something to be avoided at all costs. I now use only one filter that sorts spam into a Spam folder in my mail program and I check that folder every day. The extra 5-10 minutes a day is a small price to pay for not missing any important email.
